Over the past fifteen years, Janes has worked as a consultant and volunteer for numerous organisations and projects, undertaking development research, crafting policies, designing and conducting training sessions, delivering lectures, and advising on the design and implementation of development projects for both state and non-state entities across Africa.
He is a former fellow at the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Fellowship Programme (RLS), a member of the Climate Mobility Africa Research Network (CMARN), and a life member of the Kenya Red Cross Society. He is a published scholar and a valuable asset in the fields of urban and rural planning, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable development.
Janes is a Tutorial Fellow at the Technical University of Kenya with about a decade of experience in university research and teaching. He is completing his PhD in Urban and Rural Planning at Beijing University of Technology. His research interests encompass urban and rural planning, disaster risk reduction, sustainable livelihoods, and sustainable development.
