Martin Munene is a highly motivated and reliable expert in global development, with over a decade of experience encompassing research, program management, and leadership roles across multiple continents. His extensive expertise includes capacity building for communities and institutions, engaging diverse stakeholders, and successfully implementing climate and disaster resilience initiatives.
Martin has led teams ranging from two to thirty-three members, playing a crucial role in delivering impactful services to over thirty national and international organizations. His efforts have helped these entities secure funding, refine processes, and effectively evaluate and communicate their impacts.
With a passion for addressing the complex challenges of our world through evidence-based solutions, Martin thrives in dynamic, intellectually stimulating environments. He excels in collaborative, interdisciplinary team settings, bringing a vibrant and thought-provoking presence to his work.
He holds a PhD in Environmental Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where his thesis focused on transboundary climate and adaptation risk governance. He obtained an MSc (Distinction) in Disasters, Adaptation and Development from King’s College London, and a BSc (First Class) in Disaster Mitigation and Sustainable Development from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kenya.
